GIT and IITM Pravartak Partnership

Once again GIT stands first in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) - Pravartak, Chennai. Based on the MoU, students admitted in GIT will be provided Industrial Skilling by the experts from IITM Pravartak - First of its kind in the State of Kerala.

What is Industrial Skilling?

Industrial Skilling provides an opportunity for the students to understand and acquire the experience to work in an industry environment. Industrial Skilling empower students with the skills needed and make them ready to face any challenges in the changing technical world and thereby excel in their chosen careers.

GIT in collaboration with IITM Pravartak has launched a 5-semester Industrial Skilling Programme (ISP) for engineering students starting from the second semester of the
programme. The programme will be imparted to the students in the regular class hours without affecting their curriculum. The classes are conducted by experts from IITM Pravartak.

IBM Q2D Program

Industry-Academia Collaboration with IBM

GIT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM under the Q2D Program, a pioneering initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in empowering students with future-ready skills, cutting-edge technologies, and real-world industry exposure.

The Q2D initiative by IBM is designed to:

  • Integrate industry-relevant curriculum into academic programs
  • Offer access to IBM’s technology platforms
  • Enable students to work on live industry projects
  • Workshops, seminars, and masterclasses by IBM experts
  • Enhance employability through certification and skill development

The program focuses on transforming students from conceptual understanding to real-world deployment expertise.

The program includes specialized tracks in:

  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
  • Data Science
  • Deep Learning
  • Blockchain
  • Cloud Computing
  • Cyber Security
  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation

On completion of 4 UG certifications, students will be provided with an IBM Q2D Honours Certificate (Domain Specific).

Skill Development Institute, Bhubaneswar (SDI-B) is a flagship project of Oil & Gas PSUs established for imparting job skill training to unemployed & underprivileged youth of society to make them job ready. The institute is managed by IndianOil and registered as not-for-profit society.

IBM Career Education provides programs to help people develop skills for IT jobs. They offer programs for students, universities, and experienced professionals. The programs focus on in-demand skills like cloud computing, data science, and artificial intelligence.

World Skill Centre

The World Skill Center (WSC) is a premier advanced skill training institute established by the Government of Odisha, Skill Development and Technical Education Department, through the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA). Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, inaugurated the WSC on 5th March 2021.
